Hip, hip hooray to our treasured site manager Mr Richard Jacklin, whose 60th birthday couldn’t go by without three cheers on the playground, a whole school singalong, and a birthday balloon!
We seem to be having a season of special birthdays for long-serving staff here at Mylnhurst – testament to the uniquely wonderful place that it is – and it is thanks to Mr Jacklin that our breathtaking school grounds are so immaculate and our historic buildings so beautifully maintained.
Mr Jacklin has been site manager at Mylnhurst for nearly 21 years, and if he isn’t mowing the lawns in our 140-year-old gardens, opening up our 25m swimming pool, putting up the lighting and staging for our school productions, or receiving deliveries for our on-site Grade II listed kitchens, then he might just be found in his groundsman’s office… a gloriously organised treasure trove of all the equipment, tools and know-how it takes to keep our school running smoothly.
