God Bless Us, Every One!
Fairy lights, tinsel and presents galore: the Christmas spirit has truly arrived at Mylnhurst Preparatory School and Nursery!
We were joined by the amazing team from ‘West End in Schools’ who delighted our pupils with Dicken’s tale of A Christmas Carol, immersing the children in the magical story as they took part in drama workshops. Scrooge, Marley and the ghosts of Christmases past, present and yet to come were brought to life, reminding us all of the true meaning of this special time of year.
“There is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humour.” If ever proof of Dicken’s words were needed, Prep 3 would have been a perfect place to start! Looking splendid dressed as Santa’s elves, Mrs Telling’s helpers delivered treats to all of our boys and girls. Nothing could stop the wonderful Friends of Mylnhurst from creating a Christmas Fayre to remember; ‘Guess the name of the elf’, pocket money treats and a very special virtual visit from Father Christmas himself were the order of the day!
We all left Mylnhurst this afternoon feeling full to the brim with Christmas joy and cheer (and Chef Gareth’s tasty treats!) With the holiday just around the corner, we will look forward to making the most of the last few days of term together. In the words of Ebenezer himself, “I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.”
