Congratulations to our magic mathematician Takuma, aged 11, in Prep 6, who is through to the elite ‘bonus round’ of the annual international Primary Mathematics Challenge!
Only children who scored 21 out of 25 or above in the initial paper – which we sat here in Mylnhurst last November – make it through to the next stage of the competition, again to be held in school at the start of February.
Created by The Mathematical Association, the Primary Maths Challenge is open to all children aged 9-11 worldwide.
It is designed to be a fun and exciting way to encourage enthusiasm in maths, boost confidence, and show the different ways questions can be asked to use problem solving as a means of helping pupils develop their reasoning skills.
All children taking part in the bonus round stand to be awarded a gold, silver or bronze medal place. Good luck, Takuma!
