The sun shone on an amazing first experience of residential for our Prep 3 children, who visited Castleton for a one-night sleepover.
The children enjoyed a sun-soaked walk in the hills, and cooled down with an expedition down into the darkness of the Blue John cave Treak Cliff Cavern, where they encountered the ‘Seven Dwarfs’ – stalagmites dating back 111,000 years – before heading back to their accommodation at Losehill Hall for an engineering challenge, a battle, bubbles… and burger and chips for tea! It was so much fun even the local sheep came to have a look!
After breakfast there was just time for some fire-making and a trip through time for some prehistoric learning before heading back by minibus to school.
A tiring treat, but a truly memorable experience for all.
