What a day! World Book Day is always one of our favourite dates in the school calendar but this year was sensational! Thank you – to all our children, our teaching staff, our catering team, and of course our parents, the unsung behind-the-scenes costume-crafters! – for creating such joyful characters for the children to share with us.

It was heartwarming to see the true spirit of the day – the simple love of reading – shining through in all our children. In among the sun-soaked colour and perfect chaos of our Roald Dahl themed day, some of the loveliest moments came when the BFG’s bell rang to signal ‘stop what you’re doing – start reading’. In quiet corners across school it was wonderful to see our children doing just that.
