We are thrilled to announce the formal appointment of a very special new member of the Mylnhurst team – our OFFICIAL school dog, Ernie!
Ernie, aged four, has been a much-loved visitor to our Reception classroom for the last couple of years with his owner, Reception teacher, Miss O’Dwyer.
Now Ernie is a boney-fido (sorry!) member of the Mylnhurst staff, having qualified officially as a certified Therapy Dog. He even has his own personalised uniform from the organisation Therapy Dog Training to prove it!
Ernie’s certification comes after 60 hours of training workshops, a temperament assessment, and some seriously tough tests set by a visiting examiner – including checking whether Ernie could be trusted to ignore the temptation of food if given the “leave!” command.
Huge well done to Ernie, and to Miss O’Dwyer who has put so much time and love into his accreditation. Welcome to the team!
