We are excited to welcome Olympic gold medallist, swimmer Anna Hopkin MBE, into school on Monday, 9th February, as part of Great Athletes, a social enterprise that brings the country’s top athletes into primary schools.
Anna won gold with the GB mixed 4x100m medley relay at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, setting a new world record time.
Her identity was unveiled to our schoolchildren in a special big reveal assembly on Monday.
Anna will lead a sponsored fitness circuit with all pupils, followed by a motivational assembly and Q&A session. The aim is to inspire our pupils to be even more physically active and – just as importantly – to discover and pursue their passions. The event will also raise money for new sports equipment in school, and support athletes and para-athletes’ careers.
A sponsorship form has been sent home with your child, and you can also visit www.greatathletes.org to set up a fundraiser page.
As a thank you, pupils can receive stickers, a wristband and, for raising £50 or more, a signed Anna Hopkin poster.
