It was an honour this morning to welcome again our parish priest, Father John Cooke, into the school Chapel to lead us in our termly all-school Eucharist Mass.
The theme for this term’s service was light, life, and the coming of Springtime, and Fr John led the children in blessings and prayer for peace, fresh beginnings, and the importance of treating others as we would wish to be treated ourselves.
We cherish our foundations as a Catholic school – established by the Sisters of Mercy in 1933, and with strong links to Fr John’s church St William of York on Ecclesall Road – while at the same time valuing inclusivity and welcoming children of all faiths and none.
We were so proud to see all the children observe the calm and solemnity of the occasion impeccably. Well done to all.
