We were absolutely delighted to see our incredibly talented Prep 5 pupil Takuma celebrated in The Star this week for his amazing gift for piano.
Takuma, aged 10, represented Mylnhurst at Oxford University where he played in the ISA Young Musician Competition, performing on a Steinway concert grand piano in the prestigious Jacqueline du Pré chamber music building of St Hilda’s College.
Takuma is at Grade 7 level already… though he prefers playing football to tinkling the ivories, lists Messi over Mozart as his hero, and gets by on just 10 minutes of piano practice a day!
Click on the link to The Star’s story, or visit our Instagram page, to watch and listen to Takuma playing his lightning-fast competition piece – Le Coucou by Louis-Claude Daquin – off by heart.
Well done Takuma, we are so proud of you!
